Under the leadership of our Pastor of Fellowship, Reverend Christopher Starghill, our Fellowship Ministry exists to accomplish our church's ministry purpose of fellowship, that is, to cultivate relationships with one another. This ministry team enhances and enriches the ministry of fellowship in the life and mission of the people in this local body of believers. The Fellowship Ministry is comprised of the Men's, Women's, Youth and Young Adult Ministries, as well as, Senior's, Single's, Marriage, Small Groups and Sport's Ministries. All Fellowship Ministry teams provide opportunities to encourage all members to build and maintain relationship with one another and others within their individual circles of influence.
Reverend Starghill is a native Washingtonian, who grew up in the Woodridge community. He has been delightfully married to Lisa LaShawn for thirteen years. He is the father of three daughters, Shameka Rose, age 20, Christian Jazmin, age 8, and Christa Jordan, age 6 and one son, Christopher Starghill, Jr, age 2.
Reverend Starghill graduated from McKinley High School in 1986. Shortly after graduation, in August he became a new creature by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, at the Randall Memorial Baptist Church. Early in his Christian walk he was burdened with a calling to be an Armor-Bearer to assist preachers of the gospel. He also recognized the need to study God's Word and enrolled in Washington Bible College. In December of 2000 he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies. Graduate school is in his plans in the near future.
Reverend Starghill acknowledged his calling to preach the Gospel of Christ, while attending Washington Bible College. The Randall Memorial Baptist Church, under Pastor Earl A. Ross, licensed him in 1994.
The Lord led Reverend Starghill to the New Canaan Baptist Church in the fall of 2000; where he and his wife Lisa united under Christian experience. He was ordained in 2001 by the New Canaan Baptist Church, under Pastor Gregory Sims. They enjoyed ministry under Pastor Sims with their beloved Church family. While at New Canaan Baptist Church, he served as the Youth Director and Sunday school Superintendent and a confidant to the Pastor.
Reverend Starghill and his family united with the New Macedonia Baptist Church in January of 2007. Reverend Starghill is serving as the Pastor of Fellowship under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Patrick J. Walker. His role as the Pastor of Fellowship is to help cultivate relationships throughout the church body. The Fellowship Ministry is comprised of the Men's, Women's, Youth and Young Adult Ministries, as well as, Senior's, Single's, Marriage, Small Groups and Sport's Ministries.
Reverend Starghill is a gentle giant because of the Holy Spirit, also, momma's boy because of a Mother's Love, and more than anything, joyful child of God. Amen.
